What was the point of the roman numerals?

Just thinking about it. We all took Roman numerals yet we're not even using them, so what's the point of it?

I know there's a reason, I just want to know it....or maybe i do know it but I forgot in which case I just made a fool of myself >_>

The Roman numerals were for videos. We just use our regular usernames here, but on our YouTube (which is more of the focus, or at least it's supposed to be), we go by the Roman numerals.
